Worthington Enterprises is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Tool & Die team on 3rd shift. This individual will be responsible for safely maintaining machine tools, fixtures and dies. In addition, this position supports other facility processes as necessary. Duties include a variety of tasks, including, but not limited to: problem solving, project collaboration, and quality control. The goal is to safely achieve excellence in all facets of the role, providing the highest quality service and safety, while effectively, and efficiently increasing value for our shareholders and customers. A detailed orientated, self-motivated, problem solver that utilizes a strong work ethic for a 300+ union facility in Chilton, WI is required. Pay based on skill and experience for Maintenance Mech 4. What You’ll Do:

  • Perform all duties in a safe manner
  • Know, understand, and follow plant safety rules, policies and procedures including LOTO
  • Ability to work in a team environment focusing on meeting Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost standards
  • Must be able to work 8-10 hours daily on 3rd shift and on weekends
  • Knowledge of die building and repair, along with the ability to disassemble and assemble machine tools and dies, and perform routine preventative maintenance
  • Sets up, troubleshoots, and makes advanced adjustments to machines as needed to maintain good production and quality
  • Knowledge of how to replicate parts with or without blueprints
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects throughout the facility including various automation projects
  • Must be proficient with machine shop equipment such as lathes, mills, surface grinders
  • Assist others as needed
  • Maintain a clean work area
  • Complete paperwork as required
  • Other duties as assigned by lead or supervisor
  • Perform all duties in the spirit of Our Philosophy and in accordance to legal, ethical and contractual practices

What We’re Looking For:

  • Blueprint reading skills, math skills, and in-process inspection skills of machine parts to specification while maintaining close tolerances of ±.0005.
  • Must be able to work independently; will be responsible for specific or cross-functional tasks, based on equipment
  • Must be able to work with other trades: maintenance, electrical, engineering, quality & production.
  • Must be able to understand and convert both metric and English measurements
  • Observe and assist in diagnosing machine operations to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance production.
  • Assist in conducting tooling changeovers and troubleshooting press startup and quality specifications.
  • Participate in try-outs on all new tooling and verify samples meet quality specifications.
  • The ability to multitask and operate multiple pieces of equipment concurrently
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to establish working relationships
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to drive resolution
  • Comfortable performing a wide range of responsibilities, from thinking broadly to executing detailed tasks
  • Customer focused with the ability to function with a high sense of urgencyand a strong commitment to team success
  • Ability to effectively communicate in a professional manner via formal written and oral means to all levels of the organization
  • Always maintain all work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Strong computer skills

Desired Experience

  • Required; minimum 2-5 years of experience as machinist, tool and die technician, or similar
  • Required; previous experience in general die maintenance such as sharpening, repairing, grinding, timing or modifying
  • Required; demonstrate ability to read complex drawings and fabricate appropriate parts
  • Able to lift a maximum of 35 pounds
  • Background check required

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Machinist Cerification (Preferred)
