Job Title: Tool Crib Aide

Shift/Hours: 3rd shift, 10:45 PM - 7:00 AM

Department/Group: Plastic Machining

Reports to: Supervisor

Essential duties and responsibilities

  • Comply with all federal and state environmental, health and safety regulations as well as any safety policies and protocols outlined by the company.
  • Must receive and properly disposition tools, gauges and fixtures within the plastics machining area.
  • Must be able to fabricate gauges for Plastic Finishing
  • Must load and monitor inventory of tooling including MSC vending machines.
  • Maintain part Quality Standards.
  • Must be able to setup and operate Prototrak CNC Lathes, manual mills, drills and saws for prepping of various size tubes for plastics machining operations.
  • Utilize required drawings as required.
  • Perform required basic equipment maintenance (top off or adding fluid/oil, reposition water and air lines) for all equipment assigned to the area.
  • Operate ancillary equipment in the department.
  • Perform job in compliance with Company’s Quality Policy (ISO 9000 and AS9100).
  • Maintains work area in a safe, clean, and orderly manner.
  • Working to SAP dispatch lists within the Manufacturing Execution System (MES), ensure all work centers have enough orders loaded to maintain flow and achieve on time delivery.
  • Release materials from tubing warehouse, ensure all tooling, gauges and/or special fixturing are stated correctly on the production router/program/setup sheet and are available and distributed with the production order.
  • Verify that programs are available and current within the DNC system for the required machining operations/centers.
  • Verify that the drawing is available and to the latest rev level. Also ensure the CNC program and QDS plan align with the latest drawing revision.
  • Verify QDS plans are available and current within our online system.
  • Remove excess material trays from production area, returns area, and return to the stores area.
  • Works closely with the Production Supervisor on any orders or material problems, which could affect the capacity plan or stop production. Also perform any other duties assigned by supervisor.
  • Participates in Lean Six Sigma and process improvement activities when required.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED or equivalent experience
  • Must have obtained CNC knowledge through completion of CNC course or on-machine training
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Good IT literacy. Microsoft Office suite, and ability to learn SAP and GT specific software.
  • Experience of working within a Manufacturing environment.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently read and interpret production drawings, work instructions, Company documents and other specified requirements essential for performing standard job functions

Physical requirements

·Ability to occasionally work in positions requiring pulling, twisting and reaching

·Ability to lift and carry up to 55 lbs. without the use of mechanical lifting devices.

·Ability to work for long periods in a standing position.

·Ability to occasionally work in positions requiring sitting and walking.

·Ability to wear personal protective equipment such as eye protection and foot protection.
