Join our team as a Tobacco Treatment Specialist, where you'll play a vital role in reducing tobacco use, improving health outcomes, and supporting individuals on their journey to becoming tobacco-free.
In this rewarding position, you'll provide evidence-based tobacco cessation counseling, collaborate with healthcare providers and community organizations, and help expand access to critical cessation services throughout the community.

What You'll Do:

- Provide individual and group tobacco cessation counseling using evidence-based practices and develop personalized quit plans
- Conduct tobacco screenings, assess readiness to quit, and connect participants to resources such as the Connecticut Quitline
- Deliver follow-up support and relapse-prevention coaching to help participants achieve long-term success.
- Partner with healthcare providers to integrate tobacco treatment services into clinical settings and workflows.
- Lead community outreach, educational presentations, and training opportunities for staff and community partners.
- Maintain accurate documentation, track program outcomes, and support reporting requirements and performance goals.

What We're Looking For:

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Behavioral Health, Social Work, or a related field required; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
- Experience providing individual and/or group services in a healthcare, behavioral health, or community setting.
- Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Ability to build effective relationships with clients, healthcare professionals, and community partners..
Preferred

Qualifications
- Experience in health education, prevention programming, wellness coaching, or counseling.
- Knowledge of tobacco cessation strategies and public health initiatives.
- Experience presenting to groups and conducting community outreach activities.

Certification Requirement
- Must obtain and maintain Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist (CTTS) certification within one year of employment.
