Position Summary:

  • Under the supervision of HRIS Manager, responsible for understanding core HR business processes and supporting and maintaining core HR systems that deliver those processes. Serve as a functional and technical support point-of-contact for assigned functional areas and assists subject matter experts with ensuring data integrity, configuring and testing of system changes, report writing and analyzing process and data flows for process improvement opportunities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the support, development and performance of HRIS and related business data and processes.
  • Performs audits on data entry information.
  • Focus on identifying trends, determining root cause of problems, predicting future implications and determining solutions to drive effective business decisions.
  • Support efforts to establish, document, and audit clear, consistent, and efficient processes for the maintenance, data integrity and security of HR-related information for workers including organizational structure management.
  • Implement business process strategies for end-to-end HR processes to achieve efficiency, and productivity.
  • Support transition and archiving of software applications as required, ensuring future access needs, retention, and compliance per business requirements. Assist end-users in retrieval of legacy applications data.
  • Research and maintain personnel data for the Human Resources Department.
  • Generate all routine HRIS reports using query methods, which shall include but not be limited to; employee counts, employee turnover, employee leaves, etc. for human resources on a weekly, monthly or annual basis as instructed.
  • Coordinate with various departments in processing HRIS employee data as necessary.
  • Develop, implement and maintain HR forms and systems for manual and automated HR records.
  • Work with HR end-users to identify new ways to improve processes, maximize the use of software tools, and improve value added.
  • Create new and modify existing HRIS software processes to increase user productivity as needed.
  • Coordinate with supervisor in laying out long-range plans for HRIS Modules such as implementing Position Management, Training Administration, Recruit Workforce.
  • Responsible for end-to-end testing as updates occur to the system. Includes tracking test cases and providing results of testing.
  • Read manuals, distribute information to end users, and execute new tasks.
  • Actively participates in team meetings for Special Projects as needed.
  • Maintain and update HRIS setup tables.
  • Provide HRIS software end-user support and training to all HR Staff; identifies which HR areas need additional end-user training.
  • Create report queries as needed.
  • Assist IT technical staff on troubleshooting HRIS system.
  • Adhere to employee confidentiality and complies with HR policies and federal regulations under the Privacy rules of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
  • Provide excellent customer service for all internal and external customers of the operations at all times. Provide solutions for customer concerns and continually focus on customer service as our top priority.
  • Must maintain strict confidentiality and present a positive, professional demeanor and image at all times.

Contacts/Purpose of Contacts:

  • Contact with all HR department staff to respond to inquiries.
  • Contact with IT, Payroll, Accounting, and supervisory staff in order to inquire and respond to HRIS issues.
  • May be in contact with outside vendors related to HRIS software support.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • Two years HRIS systems experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education and directly related experience may be considered.
  • Expert with Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.
  • Experience in working with high volume, busy, and stressful situations.
  • Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience managing multiple tasks and work well under pressure to meet critical deadlines.
  • Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Must be able to pass background check to meet the employment eligibility requirements as they pertain to the position.

License, Certification, or Special Requirements:

  • Native American preference shall apply to all positions.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge and understanding of applicable tribal, federal and state laws, regulations and requirements.
  • Knowledge of computerized information systems.
  • Knowledge of department organization, functions, objectives, policies and procedures.
  • Broad knowledge of how HR uses data and is able to support data management and basic reporting and analytics activities.
  • Demonstrated understanding of HR processes and data across the employee lifecycle, including hiring, onboarding, job changes, compensation administration, timekeeping, and workflow.
  • Demonstrated experience with system configuration, including full system lifecycle testing.
  • Skill in analyzing problems, projecting consequences, identifying solutions and implementing recommendations.
  • Skill in operating business computers and office machines, including in a Windows environment, specifically Word, Excel, and
  • Ability to identify critical issues, problems and opportunities and determine possible solutions.
  • Ability to identify the right solutions to a problem by utilizing a mixture of technical learning and experience.
  • Ability to contribute to building a positive team environment and maintain a positive demeanor.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent use of hands, wrists, fingers associated with computer equipment.
  • Required to sit for extended periods of time.

  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

Work Environment:

  • Normal office environment.
  • Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required.
