Mō te tūranga | About the role

We’re looking for a TMP Designer to join our Traffic Management team in Christchurch. In this role, you’ll design, submit and manage Traffic Management Plans that keep our people, road users and the public safe, while meeting client and compliance requirements. It’s a role with real impact, where good planning, clear thinking and high standards matter.

You’ll be trusted to work closely with operational teams, clients and stakeholders to keep plans current, practical and ready when they’re needed. This is Good Work that is serious when it counts, backed by a team that is down to earth, low ego and easy to work with.

Ngā kawenga matua | Key responsibilities

  • Build TMPs that prioritise the highest level of protection for our people and the public.
  • Make sure plans are approved on time and kept current as work programmes change.
  • Act as the point of liaison for key stakeholders throughout the TMP process, ensuring our customers are highly satisfied. 
  • Keep planning records, numbering, costs and documentation accurate and well organised.
  • Assist with other general administration duties as requested to help maintain a successful traffic management business.

  • Experience preparing Traffic Management Plans and drawings.
  • NZTA TTMP Planner and/or the appropriate NZQA unit standards relating to TTM design.
  • Appropriate NZQA unit standards for risk assessments, preferrable, or be prepared to undertake FH internal risk assessment training.
  • Advanced computer literacy and knowledge of Invarion Rapid Plan and Microsoft Office suite.
  • A strong focus on safety, quality and the environment.
  • The ability to engage and connect with people at all levels of the organisation
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Problem solving capabilities and a high attention to detail.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
