Job Description

As the TM Uptake Management Specialist, you will support the Senior Manager of TM Uptake Management focusing on allocation and capacity optimization for the export trades from North America. You will develop allocation management initiatives and processes aligned with our multi-year strategy. You will assess business performance, analyze root causes and support the development of processes and tools for enhancing the allocation and capacity management of our business

  • Responsible for Allocation and Capacity Management on designated Ship Systems / Trades
  • Creation of Voyage Allocations and Customer Allocations as per alignment with TM Pricing & Steering
  • Manage and optimize utilization for the vessel within Region RNA across all allocation scopes (trades), all Geo Forms for full and MT containers
  • Liaise with ship planners (own or partner line) on space-related topics and operational restrictions (e.g. draft, ballast & bunker, stack weight, etc.)
  • Liaise with QSCs for CSB-related topics (vessel balancing), as well as PTO topics (e.g. terminal build up, load lists)
  • Close cooperation with TM Pricing & Steering regarding booking development and respective market situation
  • Alignment with Area Commercial Steering
  • Predicting the voyage utilization
  • Responsible for special cargo approval applications (e.g. OOG, Flexi tank) to planners/partner lines
  • Predict booking developments and liaise with TMPS
  • Responsible for shipment acceptance handling, including waitlist handling
  • Prioritization of cargo in case of an overbooking situation, based on commercial rules, operational and cost aspects
  • Cooperation on ad hoc schedule adjustments / optimizations in collaboration with Voyage Control/Fleet Support Center and Regions
  • Participate in meetings and discussions with relevant stakeholders
  • Back up for other members of the team, as needed
  • Reporting to the Manager/Senior Manager Allocation Management
  • Bachelor's degree required. Preference will be given to candidates with a degree from a Maritime Academy, Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation, or a related field.
  • Previous operational experience within the shipping, logistics, or transportation industry required. Sales Steering experience is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Hapag-Lloyd's global product portfolio, network, and partner offerings.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Hapag-Lloyd applications, including FIS and QlikView.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed business recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of responsibilities and drive results independently.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams and stakeholder groups.
  • Excellent negotiation, influencing, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to develop, implement, and improve processes, concepts, and organizational structures.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Flexibility to work outside of standard business hours, including weekends and holidays, as business needs require.
