TLD Systems Engineer

This full-time staff position is responsible for design, configuration and integration of IT solutions. This position plays a supporting role in IT projects and requires a high level of communication, ongoing skill development and attention to detail. The TLD Systems Engineer provides Tier 1 and 2 support remotely and on-site at client location.

TLD is a corporate subdivision of London Drugs Limited and provides business to business solutions across Canada. As with all positions, this person embodies the core essence of the London Drugs Brand Framework by always going above and beyond the expected.

Additional responsibilities include:
  • Maintaining company ticketing and project update tools in a timely manner.
  • Active recording of time and notes of work completed on each project or service ticket on the company ticketing system.
  • Design IT system solutions and specifications to deploy, integrate, and test systems to meet the needs of the business.
  • Applies technical and related business knowledge to plan, schedule and carry out preparation of integrated business solutions.
  • Produce and provide appropriate documentation for Statements of Work (SOW), project proposals, Infrastructure Assessments, etc.
  • Provide estimates and track progress of assigned project work.
  • Deliver solutions on time, with the pre-defined project budget, maintaining a high level of quality.
  • Communicate clearly within all company staff and clients on the progress of assigned task as required.
  • Participate in client meetings and client project updates.
  • Participate in vendor training as required.
General requirements for this position will include:
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Adapts easily to change.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure.
Education and Experience:
  • Completion of a bachelor level degree program in Information Technology or Applied Science (Computing) or an equivalent combination of skills and experience. This could include certification in relevant products used by TLD such as Microsoft Server, Cloud technology, Virtualization, Networking, Security, etc.
  • Completion of Microsoft Certifications such as, Azure Associate, Azure Security Administrator, Windows Server 2016+, O365 and relevant computer hardware and software technology suites.
  • Understands areas of computing infrastructure and application deployment. These include but are not limited to:
  • Networking and Telecom (multi-tenant networks and Servers, troubleshooting network connection, IP address, DHCP, DNS, Ping, Tracert, etc
  • Operating Systems (OS installation and deployment. Having experience with system’s image deployment and upgrade.)
  • Database Systems (Familiar with Active Directory: creating user account, password policy, password reset)
  • Integration Technologies (System monitoring. Checking error log files and analyzing system reports)
  • Storage and Server Technologies (Familiar with Backup and restore system). Troubleshooting backup job alerts and errors. Having experience with backup software such as Datto, Veeam, and other industry Backup solutions.
  • Security Concepts (Data security: Familiar with NTFS permissions, Share permissions, cybersecurity knowledge, management, and implementation of best security practices)
  • Cloud installation and management (Experience in implementing cloud solutions and troubleshooting)
  • VoIP (experience in configuration and support of VoIP solutions)
  • 5+ years of experience working in an IT environment.
  • Must have demonstrated strong technical and organizational abilities.
  • Thorough knowledge of IT Security practices. CISMP Security certification an asset.
  • ITIL Foundation an asset
Our office is located in Lethbridge, AB. You will also be required to go to client's office in Standoff AB, minimum 3 times per week.
