We are recruiting for a TLB driver/operator responsible for the safely operating a Tractor‑Loader‑Backhoe (TLB) for excavation, loading, backfilling, and site preparation, with strict adherence to safety and operational standards.

Job Description

• Safely operate a TLB for trenching, digging, loading, backfilling, and levelling.
• Conduct pre‑start inspections and basic maintenance checks before each shift.
• Report mechanical faults, defects, or safety concerns immediately to the supervisor.
• Assist with site preparation, excavation, clearing, and general logistics.
• Load/offload materials (soil, sand, rubble) and support other construction tasks when required.
• Maintain accurate records of hours worked, tasks completed, and machinery issues.
• Ensure machine cleanliness and proper shutdown at the end of each shift.
• Comply with all health, safety, and environmental regulations on site.

Qualifications

Requirements

• Valid TLB Operator Certificate from an accredited training provider (TETA/CETA).
• Valid driver’s licence – Code C1 (Code 10) or Code B; some roles require PDP for certain operations Careers24.com+1.
• Proven experience operating TLB machinery in construction or civil works.
• Familiarity with site safety protocols and PPE use.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Good mechanical aptitude and awareness of equipment upkeep.
• Reliable, safety‑conscious, and detail‑oriented.

• Operation & Control – safe and efficient machine handling.
• Vehicle Safety – pre‑trip checks, roadworthiness, and compliance with traffic laws.
• Troubleshooting – identifying and reporting mechanical issues.
• Planning & Organisation – aligning work with project specifications.
• Communication – liaising with site teams and supervisors.
