This position may be eligible to work a hybrid schedule of both in-office and telework days. A position’s eligibility for hybrid work is established by agency management and is subject to change at their discretion at any time and for any reason.


The State of Utah requires all employees to physically work inside the State of Utah Boundaries.


This is a time-limited non benefited position.

Key Responsibilities
Title IV-E Medicaid Eligibility Specialists perform the following tasks:

  • Contacting Residential Treatment Centers to verify background checks have been completed for all employees.

  • Actively monitoring, tracking and reviewing information to determine the center is in compliance with Federal Title IV-E guidelines.

  • Reviewing information for accuracy and completeness.

  • Possible participation in Peer Reviews and State and Federal audits.

  • Preparing and/or processing documents; reviewing for accuracy and completeness; updating information and/or evaluating against policy; comparing elements for consistency or logical relationships, etc.

  • Consulting with Division staff regarding eligibility requirements when necessary.

  • Maintaining and/or creating files or record keeping systems; sorting, labeling, filing, and retrieving documents, and/or other materials.

  • Entering data into relevant databases.

  • Excellent computer skills, technologically savvy

  • Skilled at data entry

  • Attention to detail

  • Organization skills

  • Ability to weigh the relative costs and benefits of a potential action

  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills

  • Strong commitment to customer service

  • Able to work efficiently and independently

Preference

Preference may be given to candidates who have experience with Google Drive.

Supplemental Information

  • All DCFS job offers are contingent upon passing a Background Screening Application (BSA).


Physical Requirements

  • Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.


Working Conditions

  • Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
