Objective
The Tire Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing tires of various types of vehicles. Responsibilities include inspecting and assessing tire conditions, replacing or repairing damaged tires, and balancing or rotating tires to ensure long-lasting performance.
Responsibilities
• Inspecting and assessing the condition of tires on customer vehicles.
• Performing tire rotations and balancing tasks.
• Replacing or repairing damaged tires.
• Advising on tire maintenance and performance issues.
• Performing tire pressure assessments and inflation.
• Maintaining updated knowledge of tire-related safety standards and regulations.
• Ensuring tire repair and replacement equipment is in good working order.
• Maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
• Providing exceptional customer service.
• As need will perform general routine maintenance on vehicles including but not limited to, oil changes, tire rotation, filter services, etc. Ensure work is completed in a timely and accurate manner.
Qualifications
• Proven work experience as a Tire Technician or similar role in an automotive setting.
• Good understanding of tire repair and maintenance techniques such a but not limited to tire changing and repair, including patching, mounting, and dismounting tires.
• Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in physically demanding conditions.
• Proficient in the use of tire repair and balancing equipment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Problem-solving skills to identify tire issues accurately and quickly, and determine the best course of action for repairs or replacements.
• Attention to detail to inspect and ensure the correct installation of tires, alignment, and balancing.
• Time management skills to complete all tire installations, repairs, and inspections in an efficient and timely manner.
• Knowledge of safety practices and regulations to ensure all work is done in a safe and responsible manner.

Education and
Experience:

Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment:
Time is mainly spent outside, in the shop, in the weather and elements. Regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic, or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and fax machines.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by any employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
• Regularly requires the ability to stand for extended periods of time, use repetitive motion, and bending down.
• Consistently lift objects anywhere from 5- 75 pounds.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Typical days and hours of work are set by the needs of the dealership.
Note: Schedules are subject to change. Two-weeks’ notice of a schedule change will be provided whenever possible.
Travel: Occasional travel for training or to assist at other dealerships may be required.
