This position is responsible for repairs and maintenance on all tires. Our technicians also perform other mechanical duties associated with heavy equipment such as mixers, loaders, tractors, trailers and other machinery.

DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES (summary of components that make up the job)

  1. Inspect and monitor tires for all machinery and mechanical equipment.
  2. Repair or replace tires as needed.
  3. Quote and order tires for inventory.
  4. Perform daily in-depth inspections on all tires for the machinery or mechanical equipment.
  5. Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
  6. Repairs or replaces defective parts. Installs special functional and structural parts on machinery.
  7. Start devices to test their performance.
  8. Set up and operates tools to repair equipment.
  9. Inspect equipment brakes systems, frames and other mechanical parts during tire changes or repairs.
  10. Raise equipment with hydraulic jacks or hoists to remove tires and other mechanical parts from machinery.
  11. Removes units such as brakes, suspension and other mechanical parts.
  12. Disassembles unit and inspect parts for wear.
  13. Relines and adjusts brakes.
  14. Verifies conformance to specifications.
  15. Adhere to all Federal Motor Carrier Service Administration (FMSCA), and Department of Transportation laws and compliance
  16. Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (minimum educational, experience, or other relevant job requirements)

  1. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.
  2. Must have clean driving record and maintain valid driver’s license.
  3. Must be able to work overtime and be flexible with hours (daytime/nighttime).
  4. Ability to work outside in all seasons.
  5. Must have a “safety first” attitude. Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures is required.
  6. Prior experience in tire and equipment repair/maintenance required.
