The Tire Technician Professional plays a pivotal role in the success of our Client fulfillment needs. They are responsible for our Tire Installation area to ensure it is managed in an efficient and timely manner to meet the daily business and inventory replenishment demands.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a Tire Technician to join our high energy, fun, and fast paced work environment. The Tire Equipment Technician is responsible for assessing tread levels and valve quality on tires, checks wear patterns to determine how much life is left in the tire before it needs replacement, and re-treads a vehicle's tires.

Responsibilities include:

  • Use all safety related PPE such as gloves, safety glasses and tire cages while doing any work.
  • Raise vehicles using hydraulic jacks.
  • Unbolt wheels from vehicles and remove them, using lug wrenches and other hand and power tools.
  • Separate tires from wheels, using rubber mallets and metal bars or mechanical tire changers.
  • Inspect tire casings for defects, such as holes and tears.
  • Seal punctures in tubeless tires by inserting adhesive material and expanding rubber plugs into punctures, using hand tools.
  • Reassemble tires onto wheels.
  • Identify and inflate tires correctly for the size and ply.
  • Place wheels on balancing machines to determine counterweights required to balance wheels.
  • Hammer required counterweights onto rims of wheels.
  • Remount wheels onto vehicles.
  • Locate punctures in tubeless tires by visual inspection or by immersing inflated tires in water baths and observing air bubbles.
  • Replace valve stems and remove puncturing objects.
  • Maintain Inventory levels.
  • Routine workplace maintenance.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • One to two years plus experience as Tire Technician.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Customer Oriented - Ability to take care of the customers’ needs.
  • Detail Oriented - Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task.
  • Ethical - Ability to demonstrate conduct conforming to a set of professional standards.
  • Organized - able to follow a systematic method of performing a task
  • Problem Solving - find a solution for or deal proactively with work-related problems.
  • Reliability - dependable and trustworthy.
  • Safety Awareness - Ability to identify and correct conditions that affect employee safety.
