Drive and Deliver

Driving a truck and dog tipper for Heidelberg Materials Australia is great role if you enjoy having a little bit of variety in your day, but you also enjoy a bit of routine. On some days you will be meeting with new customers but on others you will be seeing the same faces as yesterday. You don’t have to be a customer service super star, but it would help if you can hold a conversation with our customers when you need to.

About the role:

• Based out of our White Rock Quarry, most days will start between 5am and 6am and drivers can do up to and over 10 hours per day, and around 50 – 55 hours per week. Saturday work is generally available, paid at overtime rates
• We pay a 38-hour base rate and once you go past your regular hours in one day the first two after that will be at time and a half. If you do more than 2 hours overtime in a day, you go to double time. Meal allowances are generally paid after 10 hours in one shift. Capacity to earn 100K plus, base rate, plus overtime.
• You will be operating our truck and dog tippers. If you haven’t mastered the art of jack knife tipping, don’t worry, we’ll show you how.
• Most days will start at our quarry, and you will be delivering aggregates to our concrete plants or our clients. Some days will be the same as the last one, but others will have a bit of variety in where you drop off.
• We provide cutting edge technology to not only keep you safe whilst driving, but also to help you map your routes and keep track of your day

About you:

• Minimum of HC license with previous truck and dog driving experience (preferred)
• You enjoy meeting people, but you also enjoy the solitude of driving
• You don’t mind a bit of variety in your working days but also enjoy working to a set route and routine
• You take pride in the appearance of your truck. Keep it clean, give it a wash and present the best image of our company. You are a mobile billboard and people notice a dirty truck
• Able to pass a pre-employment medical, including a drug and alcohol test (random testing is also conducted on all Heidelberg Materials Australia sites)
• Some of our trucks have driver weight limits on their seats and seatbelts. For safety reasons, you may be required to be under a specified weight for these trucks
