The Time For Me Session Staff is responsible for delivering high-quality care and supervision to children participating in respite sessions. This role requires a strong commitment to child safety, engagement, and emotional well-being. Staff members are expected to actively participate in all scheduled activities, including swimming, while maintaining a professional demeanor and fostering positive relationships with parents and guardians. This position plays a vital role in creating a supportive, enriching, and secure environment for all children in attendance.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children in attendance throughout each session.

Review emergency data forms for critical information, including allergies, seizure disorders, behavioral concerns, and pool permission.

Take primary responsibility for the children assigned to you for the duration of the session.

Assist in facilitating designated activities and programs for children attending the session.

Maintain positive, respectful, and professional relationships with parents and guardians.

Actively participate in all activities with the children, including swimming and pool time.

Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor while representing the Time For Me program.

Ensure that all Time For Me sessions are conducted safely and that high-quality care is consistently provided.

Immediately report any incidents or accidents to the Time For Me Respite Coordinator.

Complete all required documentation accurately and promptly, including accident reports, incident reports, and other accountability forms.

Other:

Understands that duties may be added or deleted from the position as deemed necessary by management.

Understands that additional work or extended hours may be required due to program demands.

Completes mandatory in-service hours annually in compliance with regulations and other trainings as required.

Qualifications

Skills/Competencies:

Strong ability to supervise and engage children in a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate manner

Keen observation skills to monitor behavior, identify needs, and respond proactively

Accurate and timely recordkeeping, including incident and accident documentation

Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to support colleagues and contribute to group success

Positive interaction with parents and guardians, maintaining professionalism and empathy

Creativity in engaging children through play, activities, and learning experiences

Strong organization and time management skills to balance responsibilities effectively

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or GED required

Prior experience working with individuals who have intellectual disabilities or autism is preferred but not required.

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

Valid driver's license
