Road Transport Dispatcher - Time Critical Transport

Job location: Bucharest Dragomiresti

Purpose of the role:

• Manage and coordinate time-critical road transport operations across Europe, ensuring fast and reliable delivery for urgent shipments.

• Analyse customer transport requests and identify the most efficient operational solutions within strict time constraints.

• Plan, organize and dispatch vehicles while optimizing routes, transit times, and resource allocation.

• Calculate and provide accurate transport rates, transit times, and operational solutions for customer requests.

• Monitor shipments from collection to final delivery, ensuring deadlines and service commitments are met.

• Maintain proactive communication with customers and carriers, providing real-time shipment updates.

• Respond quickly to operational disruptions or urgent transport requests, implementing effective solutions to maintain service reliability.

• Negotiate and secure transport capacity with carriers and subcontractors, ensuring the best balance between cost, quality, and service performance.

• Manage daily communication and information flow between customers, carriers, and drivers to ensure smooth execution of transport operations.

• Accurately use the Transport Management Systems (TMS) and internal tracking tools.

• Maintain accurate operational records including transport orders, delivery confirmations and documentation.

• Build and maintain long-term relationships with transport providers and suppliers

• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure efficient operational workflow and customer satisfaction.

• Ensure all transport activities comply with company procedures and European road transport regulations

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role within a freight forwarding, transportation, or logistics company.

• Experience in road freight dispatching or transport coordination, preferably in time-critical / express transport.

• Experience on non-EU countries transportation and customs clearance procedures could be an advantage (RS, CH, MA, UK)

• Good knowledge of the European road transport market, networks, and regulations.

• Experience working with TMS, bidding platforms (easy4pro, Cargobase, etc.) and freight exchange platforms (e.g., Timocom, Trans.eu).

• Strong communication, negotiation, and customer-service skills.

• Ability to work under time pressure, to solve problems quickly and manage multiple shipments simultaneously.

• Ambitious, oriented towards profit, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

• Fluent in English; additional European languages and knowledge of non-EU transport or customs procedures are an advantage.
