Key Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, promoting a culture of safety within the team by actively participating in safety training sessions and hazard assessments.
  • Perform tig welding on various load path components, maintaining precision while working in diverse positions including flat, vertical, horizontal, and overhead.
  • Demonstrate versatility by utilizing Tig, Mig, Stick welding techniques, and brazing on materials such as aluminum, copper, and steel, ensuring adherence to technical specifications.
  • Prepare welding equipment by igniting torches, calibrating power supplies, and striking arcs, ensuring optimal welding conditions for quality output.
  • Secure components using clamps, perform tack welding, heat bending, and grinding to meet design and quality standards.
  • Monitor equipment performance continuously to identify any faults or defective materials, promptly communicating any issues to supervisors for swift resolution.
  • Operate manual and semi-automatic welding machinery proficiently, ensuring efficiency and quality throughout the welding process.
  • Control the welding process to avoid material distortion, warping, shrinking, and overheating by vigilantly monitoring heat exposure.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of welds and workpieces using tools such as straightedges and templates to ensure conformity with detailed specifications.
  • Utilize a broad range of hand and power tools relevant to welding with confidence and a strong focus on safety procedures.
  • Employ all necessary personal protective equipment and safety devices to maintain a hazard-free workplace environment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance workflow efficiency and maintain high-quality production standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records related to welding tasks, material usage, and quality checks.

Qualifications/Requirements

A high school diploma or GED is required, with preference given to candidates holding industry-recognized welding certifications. Candidates should have a minimum of three years of hands-on experience and/or relevant training in welding, demonstrating proficiency in Tig welding and related processes.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings is essential to plan layouts and welding procedures accurately.

Ability to effectively set up components for welding in accordance with detailed specifications while maintaining precision and quality.

Must successfully complete a practical welding test to demonstrate technical skills, accuracy, and safety compliance.

Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and commitment to continuous learning are vital to excel in this role.

Physical capability to handle equipment and materials safely and efficiently while adhering to ergonomic best practices.

Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within diverse teams are important to foster a productive and inclusive work environment.
