The Opportunity:

We are seeking a System Administrator 2 to work on the Contractor Site in Annapolis Junction, MD. This position will work with the Remote Operations Team on the GREENWAY GES contract. This is an overnight position, reporting Wed - Sun 10pm-6am.

Responsibilities:

  • System Administration & Maintenance
  • Monitor, manage, and maintain servers, operating systems, and key applications.
  • Apply patches, updates, and configuration changes to systems in accordance with change management procedures.
  • Perform routine system health checks, capacity planning, and performance tuning.

User Support & Troubleshooting

  • Provide advanced technical support for escalated issues from help desk/Tier 1 teams.
  • Diagnose and resolve system, application, and network-related problems.
  • Assist with user account management, permissions, and access controls.

Implementation & Configuration

  • Install, configure, and deploy new systems, applications, and tools.
  • Assist in system upgrades, migrations, and integrations.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and standards.

Security & Compliance

  • Ensure systems adhere to security best practices and organizational policies.
  • Help implement and monitor security controls such as antivirus, endpoint protection, firewalls, and access management.
  • Participate in audits, risk assessments, and remediation activities.

Monitoring & Reporting

  • Use monitoring tools to track system performance, availability, and capacity.
  • Respond to alerts, incidents, and outages, performing root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Prepare reports on system health, incidents, and improvements for management.

Collaboration & Process Improvement

  • Collaborate with IT teams (network, security, applications, help desk) on cross-functional initiatives and projects.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of IT processes, standards, and documentation.
  • Provide input on technology selection and system architecture improvements.

Qualifications:

TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph

HS or GED with 15 years experience OR Bachelors with 10 years experience

Pay Range:

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$86,600 - $181,800
