POSITION SUMMARY

The Medical Records Clerk ensures medical records are complete and available for review.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

• Scans all relevant documentation into the electronic medical record such as registration forms, anesthesia documents and all other clinical records as needed
• Retrieves notes from outside entities and places in appropriate charts
• Ensures transcriptions from outside clinics are completed and in the chart in a timely manner
• Assists in retrieving archived paper charts and scanning them into the medical record in accordance with the retention and destruction policy.
• Regular and predictable attendance
• Ability to work in a cooperative manner with others
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required

Experience: 1 year previous experience in Medical Records or similar background is required.

Computer Skills: Proficient in MSOffice (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
