Role:
The Thrift Store Truck Driver’s primary responsibilities include pick-up of donated items, and occasional delivery of large purchased items to all Thrift Stores owned and operated by the Foundation.
Qualifications:
• High School/GED level reading and math skills
• Experienced driving skills
• Company Driver - Valid driver’s license
• Knowledge of assigned store area preferred
• Ability to read a map and follow directions
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written, with donors and other employees
• Physically able to lift up to 80 pounds
• Able to physically navigate stairs, narrow spaces and tolerate heat/cold while lifting and transporting heavy objects
• Ability and have knowledge of how to break down furniture in order to move it and how to reassemble
• Ability and have knowledge of how to move furniture in and out of donors’ and customers’ homes to limit damage to home or donated items
• Ability to remain calm and troubleshoot/handle vehicle service issues independently

Job Responsibilities:
• Strictly follows the daily pick-up and delivery routes provided each day to effectively and efficiently manage time lines and schedules.
• After proper training from management, plots routes and/or dispatches for non-scheduled pick-ups, deliveries, and transfers.
• Exercises quality control of donated items by assessing the items’ resale eligibility.
• Loads truck and secures items by practicing safe and proper body mechanics relative to lifting and transporting heavy items such as furniture, boxes, books, etc.
• Maintains safe operation by complying with operational policies, procedures and standards, as well as state and local driving rules and regulations.
• Cleans truck interior and exterior and ensures all maintenance work is completed according time appropriate timelines.
• Ensures accountability standards for gas cards, receipts, and in-kind acknowledgements are met.
• Maintains personal standards by presenting a neat and clean appearance, promoting a positive, courteous and safe work environment, and ensuring personal timekeeping procedures are met every day.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Compensation Pay Range:
$16.96 - $25.24
