The Sales and Production Associate is responsible for performing a wide range of duties in both the sales floor and production areas of the thrift store. This position supports daily operations while contributing to a welcoming, respectful environment that reflects and supports the mission of The Salvation Army. The role helps maintain order, promotes sustainability, and builds positive relationships with customers and donors.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide courteous, professional, and responsive customer service at all
  • Support daily store operations, including opening and closing tasks as
  • Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and visual standards, including
  • Receive donations and handle all items respectfully and
  • Sort, price, hang, tag, and stock merchandise according to established
  • Maintain proper organization of merchandise by category, colorization, and established rag-out
  • Perform cashier duties, including operating the point-of-sale system and processing transactions
  • Follow all cash handling policies and
  • Restock merchandise and assist customers as needed throughout the
  • Adhere to the Thrift Store Employee Handbook and all established
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • A combination of education and at least one year of relevant work experience preferred

SKILLS AND COMPETENICIES

  • Strong customer service and interpersonal communication
  • Experience using a cash register or point-of-sale system and handling cash
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a

  • Basic math skills and ability to manage transactions
