Job Description

FNZ is a global FinTech organisation, providing technology, investment operations, and wealth management platform services to financial institutions worldwide. This role sits within FNZ's Operations function and is responsible for supporting the oversight of a third-party provider that delivers critical investment and platform operations services on behalf of FNZ.

The Third Party Oversight Officer will play an important role in ensuring that outsourced operational services are delivered in line with agreed service levels, regulatory requirements, internal controls, and client expectations. Working closely with the third-party provider and a broad range of internal stakeholders, you will support operational governance, service performance monitoring, issue management, control oversight, and continuous improvement activities.

You will help ensure that operational risks are appropriately identified, managed, and evidenced, while supporting strong client outcomes and maintaining robust operational controls across FNZ's operating model. The role offers excellent exposure to investment operations, outsourcing oversight, operational resilience, and service delivery management within a global FinTech environment.

Team Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight of third-party providers delivering critical investment and platform operations services
  • Monitor service performance, operational controls, and delivery against agreed service level expectations
  • Support governance and oversight of outsourced operational activities
  • Ensure issues, incidents, risks, and actions are effectively tracked and managed through to completion
  • Support compliance with outsourcing regulations, operational resilience requirements, and internal governance standards
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational effectiveness and client outcomes
  • Produce management information and reporting to support oversight and decision-making

Specific Role Responsibilities

Third Party Operations Oversight

  • Support the day-to-day oversight of third-party providers delivering operational services on behalf of FNZ
  • Monitor operational performance against agreed service levels, key performance indicators (KPIs), and operational expectations
  • Review service reporting and operational management information to identify trends, risks, issues, and opportunities for improvement
  • Support regular service review meetings with third-party providers and internal stakeholders
  • Ensure provider obligations are completed in accordance with contractual, operational, and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain accurate oversight documentation and evidence to support ongoing governance activities

Operational Performance & Service Delivery

  • Monitor outsourced operational processes across areas such as trade processing, settlements, reconciliations, asset servicing, cash processing, and platform administration
  • Support the investigation and resolution of operational incidents, service failures, processing exceptions, and client-impacting issues
  • Track actions arising from incidents, service reviews, risk assessments, and audits through to successful completion
  • Escalate material service delivery concerns through appropriate governance channels
  • Support the delivery of positive client outcomes through effective oversight of third-party operational performance

Controls, Governance & Risk Management

  • Support oversight of key controls performed by the third-party provider
  • Review evidence supporting control execution and compliance with agreed standards and procedures
  • Assist in identifying control weaknesses, recurring operational issues, and process improvement opportunities
  • Support third-party risk assessments, due diligence reviews, and ongoing monitoring activities
  • Maintain audit-ready evidence and documentation relating to oversight activities and regulatory requirements
  • Support remediation activities arising from audits, control reviews, incidents, or regulatory findings

Operational Resilience & Regulatory Oversight

  • Support activities relating to outsourcing governance, operational resilience, and regulatory requirements
  • Assist in ensuring outsourced services operate in accordance with FNZ policies, regulatory obligations, and client commitments
  • Support periodic reviews of critical suppliers and outsourced operational services
  • Contribute to operational resilience planning and oversight where third-party dependencies exist
  • Help ensure regulatory requirements, including outsourcing and third-party governance expectations, are appropriately evidenced

Stakeholder Management & Governance

  • Build effective working relationships with Operations, Technology, Risk, Compliance, Procurement, and third-party suppliers
  • Act as a key operational contact for third-party service-related queries and requests
  • Support governance forums and operational review meetings by preparing reporting, analysis, and documentation
  • Communicate issues, risks, actions, and service performance clearly and professionally to stakeholders
  • Support management reporting and governance packs used to drive oversight and decision-making
  • To ensure that third-party suppliers deliver good customer outcomes and minimise consumer harm through effective oversight, appropriate service standards, robust controls, and meaningful customer outcome reporting.

What We Are Looking For

Essential

  • Experience within financial services operations, investment operations, fund administration, custody, asset servicing, platform operations, outsourcing oversight, or supplier governance environments
  • Strong understanding of operational processes and controls within a financial services environment
  • Experience monitoring service delivery, operational performance, or supplier relationships
  • Ability to analyse operational data, identify trends, and investigate issues
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to deadlines

Desirable

  • Experience overseeing outsourced operational activities or third-party service providers
  • Understanding of investment operations processes such as trade lifecycle, settlements, reconciliations, cash management, or asset servicing
  • Knowledge of outsourcing regulations, operational resilience, DORA, or third-party governance frameworks
  • Experience producing management information, service reporting, or governance materials
  • Exposure to audit, assurance, risk management, or control remediation activities
  • Knowledge of wealth management platforms or investment platform operations
