This is a 6-month secondment opportunity, open to interstate applications across Australia.

As a Third-Party Consultant, you will play a key role in supporting the governance and oversight of Bankwest's broker and aggregator network. Working closely with stakeholders across Home Buying Distribution, Risk, Compliance, Legal and Operations, you'll help identify and manage emerging risks, deliver governance insights, strengthen controls and drive continuous improvement across the third-party channel.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys stakeholder engagement, problem solving and balancing commercial outcomes with effective risk management.

Key Accountabilities

  • Governance and oversight of third-party distribution partners, ensuring compliance with internal policies, regulatory obligations and risk appetite.
  • Conduct risk-based monitoring and assurance activities to identify emerging conduct, compliance, fraud and reputational risks across the third-party channel.
  • Investigate broker, aggregator and third-party incidents, supporting appropriate escalation, remediation and consequence management outcomes.
  • Prepare governance papers, management reporting, risk insights and recommendations for governance forums and senior leadership.
  • Maintain and enhance broker risk indicators, monitoring thresholds and governance controls to strengthen oversight effectiveness.
  • Partner with other Business Units, Distribution, Risk, Legal, Compliance and Operations stakeholders to embed consistent governance standards across the broker lifecycle.
  • Support the development and maintenance of third-party governance frameworks, policies, standards and operating procedures.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives through data analysis, process optimisation and control enhancements.
  • Manage governance relationships with aggregators and Head Groups, including assurance activities, information sharing and contractual governance obligations.
  • Promote a strong risk culture by balancing customer outcomes, sustainable growth and effective risk management across the third-party channel.

We’re interested in hearing from people who have

  • Strong experience in financial services governance, risk, compliance, assurance or broker distribution.
  • Understanding of broker, aggregator and third-party distribution models.
  • Highly developed stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Strong analytical and investigative capability.
  • Excellent written communication skills with experience preparing executive and governance-level reporting.
  • Ability to operate effectively in an environment requiring balanced commercial and risk decision-making.
