About CASA
CASA Mental Health is an established non-profit organization delivering holistic, culturally-safe wrap-around mental health services to Albertans and their families. CASA provides mental health service to the missing middle – mental health treatment for diagnosed children and youth, in between prevention and promotion in primary and community care, and acute treatment in hospital.
CASA’s team of mental health professionals are trauma experts committed to delivering service in collaboration with community partners. This includes assessment and treatment for up to 4,000 children, youth and their families each year, from community outreach settings to intensive treatment programs.

About the Role
CASA currently has a unique opportunity for a Therapy Support Navigator to grow their specialized skills in trauma treatment with children and teens. Join a fun-loving and energetic team!
Reporting to the Program Supervisor, the Therapy Support Navigator works closely with mental health therapists to support screening, case management and delivery of successful treatment plans. The Therapy Support Navigator has an integral role within the therapy team to provide treatment extension and promote the uptake and application of skills within family and school settings. The Therapy Support Navigator also facilitates child, adolescent and parent treatment groups under the supervision of the therapists.

The Therapy Support Navigator will:
  • Assist Mental Health Therapists/physicians in screening and assessment interviews, in order to develop a treatment plan for mental health services.
  • Manage assigned caseload.
  • Provide hands-on modelling and coaching to family members, guided by the treatment plan.
  • Coordinate and facilitate psycho-educational/treatment groups for patients and their families.
  • Develop and maintain a list of community resources in order to refer patients and families for additional mental health support.

Minimum salary: $33.92
Maximum salary: $41.7
Hours per shift: 7.25
Shifts per week:  Five    
Days off: Saturday/Sunday 
Qualifications
  • Completion of any of the following:
    • Bachelor of social work
    • Bachelor of arts, majoring in psychology
    • Bachelor of education or bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Relevant and practical experience in a child and adolescent mental health treatment setting.
  • Valid Class 5 operator’s license and access to transportation.
The successful Therapy Support Navigator will also possess the following experience, knowledge, skills and abilities:
  • Adaptability and flexibility in fluid contexts and situations.
  • Strong knowledge and skill with behaviour management.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks appropriately.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
Conditions of Employment
  • A satisfactory Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Search. This would be the financial responsibility of the successful candidate.
  • A satisfactory Child Intervention Check.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or exemption on the basis of a protected legal ground.
