The Fresno County Department of Public Health invites applications for the position of Therapy Aide. Incumbents assist Therapists in treating children with disabilities in a medical therapy unit in the California Children’s Services program; performs technical and clerical support services in health care settings; and perform related work as required. Individuals who are bilingual in Spanish are highly encouraged to apply.
Please Note: The posted salary information is based on hiring at a Step 3 placement pursuant to California’s healthcare minimum wage requirements as mandated by SB 525.

Experience: One (1) year of full-time, paid work experience in a patient care setting.
License: Possession of a valid Class “C” driver’s license, or equivalent.
Certificate: Possession of a valid First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate is required within ninety (90) days of appointment.

Pursuant to Fresno County Personnel Rule 4 - Selection Process, applicants may be required to complete an examination process and successful candidates will be placed on an employment list effective for a minimum of 3 months and certified in final rank order as vacancies occur.
Positions in this classification are in Medical Group III - Heavy Physical Activity (Personnel Rule 8). This group includes positions which require heavy physical effort using arms, legs, back and trunk in frequent lifting, pushing, or pulling objects weighing (or offering resistance equivalent to) over 25 pounds. Generally, considerable bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, reaching, as well as standing and walking are involved. Physical stamina is usually required and explosive strength using bursts of energy may be required, depending upon specific position assignments.
