We have an exciting opportunity for a Dialectical Behavioral Therapist (DBT) to join our team of talented professionals.

We have a market-based compensation structure. The estimated salary for this position will vary based on a candidate's transferable work experience and qualifications. Salary ranges start at $27.22/hour. The range provided is just one component of total compensation including a comprehensive benefit package of affordable medical plans, employer paid dental, vision and long-term disability, 401(K), flexible spending accounts for medical and dependent, paid time off, 11 paid holidays.

As a Dialectical Behavioral Therapist in the Adult Behavioral Health Program, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Maintaining a caseload consisting of clients with primary diagnosis of substance abuse/chemical dependence and/or mental health.
  • The therapist is required to: conduct intake assessments, maintain the case record in a timely fashion, complete authorizations with various funding sources in a timely manner as required, and conduct appropriate individual and group psychotherapy.
  • Regular working hours for staff are Monday through Thursday 8:30am – 9:00 p.m. and Friday 8:30am- 5pm but evening hours will be required and determined based on program needs. On call hours after 5:00 pm for the DBT program clients, as well, 7 days a week.

Requirements

To qualify for this position, you will need the following:

  • Candidates must have a Masters in Social Work or related field from an accredited program and the corresponding State of Michigan Licensure (LLMSW, LMSW, TLLP, Ph.D/LP, LLPC, LPC).
  • One year experience working with adult clients with substance abuse/chemical dependency and / or mental health diagnosis.
  • Must also be eligible for Qualified Mental Health Professional provisional certification with full certification being obtained within 4 months of accepting the role.
  • Must demonstrate completion of course work, fieldwork, or job experience which demonstrates competence in individual, family and group substance abuse chemical dependency treatment and mental health.
  • Must be able to work as part of the DBT team for consultation meetings, groups and on call duties.
  • Must also be able to work independently.
  • Must have excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must have excellent organizational and attention to detail skills in order to track and prepare data accurately and timely.
  • Must have the ability interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form. Individual programs may have additional requirements.
  • Additional requirements include: cultural competency, ability to work effectively with a diverse population, the ability to engage and maintain therapeutic relationships with youth and families in a variety of modes of treatment, the ability to develop collaborative relationships with other unit staff and providers, effective communication skills, and a willingness to be flexible. Candidate must be willing to attend, complete and become certified in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and maintain the fidelity model.
