Required Qualifications: MUST HAVE
- Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of hire.
- Master’s Degree in Behavioral Science, Psychology, Counseling, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of treatment related experience.
- Satisfactory BIU, CBI, and FBI background checks.
- Current Safety Care certification or willingness to obtain.
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, trainings, and school activities to support student success
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain timely documentation.
- Must have at least five (5) years of valid driving experience and possess a valid Colorado Driver’s License, or be willing to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
- Must be able to resolve problems, handle conflict, and make effective decisions under pressure while working with individuals displaying a range of emotions and behaviors.
- Must be willing and able to drive regularly as part of job responsibilities.
- Must be willing to participate in ALL community activities with students, including but not limited to skiing, swimming, horseback riding, and other off-site activities.

Benefits begin at first of the following month after completing a full 30 days of employment (i.e. start date 4 January 2025, benefits initiate 1 March 2025).
Pay Range: $ 56,925 to 64,380  Annual paid bi-weekly based off experience with youth and education.
Shift: 7:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. Year round.

Summary
The Day Treatment Therapeutic Specialist provides therapeutic and behavioral support services to students enrolled in the school-based day treatment program. This position focuses on implementing treatment plans, facilitating therapeutic interventions, and collaborating with families, staff, and community partners to promote students’ emotional, behavioral, and academic growth. The Therapeutic Specialist assists in crisis response, supports staff in understanding student needs, and ensures compliance with state and agency treatment requirements.
Therapeutic Support
- Provide individual and group therapeutic services per IEPs and Day Treatment requirements.
- Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and assist in developing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) with the treatment team.
- Assist with FBAs and BIPs in collaboration with the treatment team.
- Support family engagement and help ensure consistency between home and school.
- Collaborate with staff, families, and external agencies to coordinate care.
- Maintain accurate and timely treatment notes, reports, and documentation.
- Participate in treatment team and IEP meetings as needed.
Crisis Intervention
- Provide crisis support and de-escalation using trauma-informed strategies.
- Support de-escalation under the guidance of program leadership or Behavior Intervention Specialist.
- Assist during behavioral incidents under the direction of program leadership.
- Contribute to data collection and incident reviews to support intervention planning.
- Follow all emergency and safety protocols.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with teachers, behavior specialists, and administrators to align supports.
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, trainings, and school activities.
- Communicate effectively with families, colleagues, and external partners.
Equity & Inclusion

- Support practices that promote equity, inclusion, and belonging.
Compliance & Professional Standards
- Maintain compliance with regulatory and agency policies.
- Ensure timely documentation and adherence to treatment and education standards.
- Participate in home visits, parent events, and community-based programming as needed.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

- Minimum 3 years of treatment related experience.

- Minimum 5 years of driving experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and related computer applications.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to maintain various physical postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) for extended periods.
- Must be physically present at assigned work locations, including school, home, and community settings.
- Must be able to hear and respond to oral communication.
- Must be able to work on-site in school, home, and community settings.
- Must have visual acuity to read and interpret documents, reports, and electronic communication.
