About the role

Lead therapeutic practice and case planning for children and young people with complex needs. Deliver trauma-informed, person-centred support, guide Care Teams and manage a caseload of up to 12 CYP.

Duties

  • Assess cognitive, emotional, behavioural and therapeutic needs
  • Develop, implement and review therapeutic interventions and plans
  • Lead Care Team meetings, case reviews and complex case planning
  • Coach Care Teams in trauma-informed, culturally responsive practice
  • Coordinate referrals, transitions, placements and specialist supports

Skills & Experience

  • Hold a tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, OT, Mental Health Nursing or related field
  • Bring 5+ years’ therapeutic or clinical experience with CYP in OOHC
  • Hold current professional registration relevant to your qualification
  • Demonstrate therapeutic, disability and NDIS knowledge where relevant
  • Hold an unrestricted driver licence and meet all probity requirements

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.

Our campus partners, the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI) and The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics, along with the RCH Foundation, are on site with the hospital in Parkville.
