Therapeutic Assistant/Teacher Assistant - Therapeutic Preschool and Kindergarten Program

1921 W. Irving Park Rd. Chicago, IL | Clinic-Based | Predictable Monday–Friday schedule - no evenings or weekends.

Hourly Rate & Benefits

  • Hourly Rate: $18.25-$19/hour, based on experience and qualifications.

About the Role

As a Therapeutic Assistant, you will support children ages 2-7 with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, sensory processing disorder, and other neurodiverse needs. In this role, you'll help promote each child's cognitive, social, emotional, adaptive, and developmental growth.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with individualized therapy activities and classroom/lesson preparation
  • Support group therapy rotations
  • Collaborate daily with occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, and social workers
  • Help maintain a positive, engaging, play-based learning environment

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent college credit (60 credits) required; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience working with children or clients with special needs required

Working Environment and Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift at least 35 lbs, including but not limited to lifting children, therapy equipment etc.
  • Ability to walk and/or run if needed to keep clients safe.
  • Ability to implement behavior management techniques, based on training provided by the company.
  • Ability to use hands and arms to prepare and perform required therapy tasks.
  • Ability to utilize keyboard, desktop, and ipad to complete documentation required for funders.
