Therapeutic Assistant/Behavior Technician Flex

140 E. Loop Rd. Wheaton, IL | Clinic-Based | Predictable Monday–Friday, 8:30am-5 PM schedule - no evenings or weekends.

Hourly Rate & Benefits

About the Role

As an TA/BT Flex at Blue Bird Day, you will provide support and applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy to children ages 2-7 years old with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, sensory processing disorder, and other neurodiverse needs. You'll foster each child's cognitive, social, emotional, adaptive, and developmental growth.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized therapy
  • Collect data on programming
  • Provide support during therapeutic rotations
  • Implement evidence-based intervention plans under the supervision of a BCBA
  • Collaborate daily with teachers, physical and speech therapists, and social workers
  • Document progress and communicating with families to support continuity of care

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent college credit (60 credits) required; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Completion of 40-hour training of ASD and behavioral related subjects/evidence-based techniques
  • Experience working with children or clients with special needs required
  • Active BACB certification preferred

Working Environment and Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift at least 35 lbs, including but not limited to lifting children, therapy equipment etc.
  • Ability to walk and/or run if needed to keep clients safe.
  • Ability to implement behavior management techniques, based on training provided by the company.
  • Ability to use hands and arms to prepare and perform required therapy tasks.
  • Ability to utilize keyboard, desktop, and ipad to complete documentation required for funders.
