Summary: As a Food Runner / Expo, you expedite food orders to ensure every plate reaches the right guest quickly, ensuring food quality, accuracy and a seamless dining experience while maintaining effective communication with kitchen staff and waitstaff.

Essential Job Functions:
- Maintain a friendly and approachable presence while interacting with guests throughout the restaurant.
- Deliver food promptly, accurately, and professionally while ensuring presentation standards are met.
- Support The Zone’s sports bar atmosphere by creating positive interactions that enhance the guest experience.
- Assisting in resolving service challenges quickly to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Accurately verify food orders before leaving the kitchen to ensure quality, completeness, presentation, and proper modifications.
- Expedite food orders efficiently while maintaining established quality and timing standards.
- Deliver food to guests using proper table numbers, seat positions, and service standards.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, servers, bartenders, and management to maintain smooth operations.
- Coordinate ticket flow and prioritize orders during high-volume periods.
- Ensure food leaves the kitchen at appropriate serving temperatures and according to presentation standards.
- Assist servers and bartenders with food service needs as business demands require.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and stocking of expo stations, service stations, and food runner areas.
- Complete opening, running, and closing side work assignments.
- Ensure all serving equipment, trays, utensils, condiments, and supplies are properly stocked and readily available.
- Maintain cleanliness of dining areas and assist with bussing tables as necessary.
- Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and health department requirements.
- Process all ticket orders through kitchen display/ticket system.
- Report product quality concerns, maintenance issues, or operational challenges to leadership immediately.

Required Knowledge Of:
- Food preparation methods, menu items, ingredients, and presentation standards.
- Proper food handling, food safety, sanitation, and allergen awareness practices.
- Quality assurance procedures for food delivery and order verification.
- Point-of-Sale systems and kitchen display systems.
- Spirit Mountain guest service expectations and hospitality principles.

- Verifying complex orders and identifying discrepancies before food leaves the kitchen.
- Communicating effectively with guests, kitchen staff, servers, bartenders, host/hostess, and leadership.

- Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Consistently demonstrating urgency without sacrificing quality or accuracy.
Education, Experience, Licenses, Registrations, and Certifications:
- High School Diploma or GED and one (1) year of restaurant, food service, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Low Security Gaming License issued by the Grand Ronde Gaming Commission.
- State of Oregon Food Handler's Certificate.
- Must obtain an OLCC Minor permit within 45 days of hire.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Due to the nature of the interactions with other employees and the public we serve, employees may be required to provide documentation of, or receive, certain health vaccinations.
Environmental Factors and Conditions/Physical Requirements:
- Work is performed in a food service environment, with routine exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or tobacco smoke, and occasional exposure to extreme cold or heat and potentially toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Subject to high levels of noise.
- Work is subject to frequent standing and walking, with occasional sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Work is subject to frequent use of hands to finger, handle, feel, and reach with hands and arms.
Equipment and Tools Utilized:
- Equipment utilized includes Point-of-Sale system, kitchen display/ticket system, reservation waitlist technology, heat lamps, food warmer, standard office equipment, box knife, and tools and equipment normally used in providing food and beverages such as push carts, trays, bus tubs, utensils and serving plates, telephone, audio/video equipment, and two-way radio.
