Summary: As a Busperson, you ensure the environment remains clean, organized, welcoming, and ready for every guest who walks through our doors.
The intent of this position description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by this position. Employee(s) may be required to perform position-related tasks other than those specifically listed in this description.
Essential Job Functions:
- Greeting guests and assisting them with basic requests while maintaining a guest-focused attitude.
- Anticipate operational needs and support Team Members to ensure a smooth and efficient dining experience.
- Help maintain a clean, inviting environment.
- Maintain a professional appearance and positive demeanor throughout each shift.
- Clear and reset tables quickly and efficiently to maximize seating availability and guest flow.
- Remove used dishes, glassware, utensils, and service items from dining and bar areas.
- Assist Food Servers, Bartenders, Food Runners, and leadership with guest service needs as business demands require.
- Replenish service stations, condiments, napkins, utensils, and other guest-facing supplies.
- Assist with beverage station maintenance and stocking as assigned.
- Communicate effectively with Team Members to maintain seamless operations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining room, bar area, service stations, and guest-facing areas throughout the shift.
- Sweep, mop, and clean floors as necessary to maintain established cleanliness standards.
- Ensure tables, chairs, booths, menus, and surrounding guest areas are properly cleaned and sanitized.
- Dispose of trash and recyclables in accordance with departmental procedures.
- Complete opening, running, and closing side work assignments.
- Report safety hazards, maintenance concerns, broken equipment, or cleanliness issues to leadership immediately.
- Comply with all food safety, sanitation, health department, and workplace safety standards.
- Support teammates during peak business periods and assist in maintaining operational efficiency throughout the shift.
- Support The Zone’s sports bar atmosphere by creating positive interactions that enhance the guest experience.

Required Knowledge Of:

- Proper use and handling of cleaning and sanitation products.

Education, Experience, Licenses, Registrations, and Certifications:
- High School Diploma or GED and three (3) months of restaurant, hospitality, customer service, or food service experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Low Security Gaming License issued by the Grand Ronde Gaming Commission.
- State of Oregon Food Handler's Certificate.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must obtain an OLCC Minor permit within 45 days of hire.
- Due to the nature of the interactions with other employees and the public we serve, employees may be required to provide documentation of, or receive, certain health vaccinations.
Environmental Factors and Conditions/Physical Requirements:
- Work is performed in a food service environment, with routine exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or tobacco smoke, and occasional exposure to extreme cold or heat and potentially toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Subject to high levels of noise.
- Work is subject to frequent standing and walking, with occasional sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Work is subject to frequent use of hands to finger, handle, feel, and reach with hands and arms.
Equipment and Tools Utilized:
- Equipment utilized includes standard office equipment, box knife, and tools and equipment normally used in providing food and beverages such as push carts, trays, bus tubs, utensils and serving plates, telephone, audio/video equipment, and two-way radio.
