Description

The Residency is a unique chef-led dining experience, developed in partnership with The French, bringing Michelin-level culinary standards and immersive hospitality to the Etihad Stadium.

As a Chef within The Residency, you’ll play a key role in delivering an exceptional guest experience. This isn’t a traditional kitchen role. Alongside preparing and delivering outstanding food, you’ll also present dishes directly to guests, share the story behind the menu and become part of the theatre of the dining experience.

Working within a small, highly skilled brigade, you’ll combine technical excellence with genuine hospitality, creating memorable moments for every guest.

Day to Day Key Responsibilities

Culinary Excellence

• Deliver exceptional dishes to Michelin/Rosette-inspired standards.
• Maintain consistency, precision and attention to detail throughout service.
• Support menu development and continuous improvement.

Guest Experience

• Present dishes directly to guests with confidence and professionalism.
• Explain ingredients, techniques and the inspiration behind each course.
• Create memorable interactions that enhance the overall dining experience.
• Represent The Residency through exceptional hospitality and professionalism.

Collaboration

• Work closely with colleagues from both the kitchen and front of house to deliver a seamless service.
• Embrace a chef-led style of service where culinary expertise and guest engagement go hand in hand.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Essential:

• Proven experience in a quality-driven restaurant or fine dining kitchen.
• Excellent culinary skills with exceptional attention to detail and presentation.
• Passion for delivering outstanding food and memorable guest experiences.
• Confidence communicating directly with guests in a warm, engaging and professional manner.
• Ability to remain calm and composed in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene and allergen legislation.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and event days.

Desirable:

• Experience within Michelin-starred, Rosette or luxury dining environments.
• Experience working within an open kitchen, chef’s table or chef-led dining concept.
• Comfortable presenting dishes and explaining menus directly to guests.
• Experience working alongside Front of House to deliver premium guest experiences.
• Passion for storytelling through food and creating immersive dining experiences.
• Experience supporting menu development and seasonal menu changes.
• Formal culinary qualification.
