At The North Face, exploration fuels everything we do, from the products we create to the experiences we deliver for our athletes and consumers around the world. As an Inventory Planner, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the right product is in the right place at the right time, enabling seamless consumer experiences while supporting healthy inventory and operational excellence.

This role sits at the intersection of planning, supply chain, and execution, combining analytical problem-solving with cross-functional leadership. From optimizing inventory flow and managing service risks to supporting strategic product launches and driving process innovation, you'll help power the business behind every exploration.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Manage material setup, forecast loads, and size profiles, validating inputs, troubleshooting issues, and analyzing variances to ensure planning accuracy and downstream continuity.
  • Analyze supply and demand to identify inventory risks and opportunities, executing rebalancing, receipt management, and inventory optimization strategies that maximize service, revenue, and inventory productivity.
  • Monitor service performance and inventory exposure, implementing recovery actions and managing expedited supply solutions to balance consumer service, inventory health, and cost objectives.
  • Drive inbound service and supply analysis by identifying late purchase orders, past-due shipments, and supply shortages, partnering with Logistics, Sourcing, and Planning teams to determine root causes and corrective actions.
  • Lead high-priority inventory initiatives, special collections, and strategic customer programs, coordinating cross-functional execution, managing milestones, and mitigating risks to achieve launch and service objectives.
  • Partner across functions as the primary liaison between Inventory Planning, Wholesale and Direct-to-Consumer Buying, Customer Service, Merchandising, Sourcing, Production Planning, and Global Supply Planning teams to resolve service and inventory challenges.
  • Champion continuous improvement by evaluating existing processes, identifying opportunities for greater efficiency, and developing scalable tools, automation, and AI-enabled solutions that enhance business performance.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • 3-5 years of experience in inventory, supply, demand, or merchandise planning, or a related analytical function.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Management, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience within retail, wholesale, consumer goods, or other product-driven industries preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and translate insights into action.
  • Proficiency in AI tools and a curiosity for leveraging emerging technology to improve processes, efficiency, and decision making.
  • Experience with publishing in data visualization and analytics platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, or Databricks is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of planning and ERP systems such as SAP, Logility, Infor, or similar platforms.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency, particularly Excel, with the ability to manage, analyze, and present data effectively.
  • Highly organized with strong prioritization and project management skills, capable of balancing multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative and solution-oriented, with the ability to build partnerships across functions and influence outcomes through clear communication.
  • Ability to connect business priorities across teams and processes to support broader organizational goals.
  • Ownership mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement, operational excellence, and delivering results.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex information to diverse audiences and levels of leadership.
