GREENWICH, CT (NATIONWIDE SEARCH) – A warm, down-to-earth, and deeply loving family relocating from Washington, D.C. to Greenwich this summer is seeking a FULL-TIME, LIVE-OUT NANNY to join them long-term as they settle into their new home and community. This is a truly special opportunity for a highly capable, proactive, and engaging nanny who is passionate about child development and excited to become a true partner in raising two young children: an energetic and curious 3.5-year-old boy who attends preschool half days and a sweet 7-month-old baby girl, with hopes of growing their family in the future. The family is seeking someone warm, grounded, intelligent, and confident in their abilities; someone who can lovingly lead the day while bringing structure, consistency, creativity, and positive energy into the home.
Both parents work and deeply value long-term, respectful relationships with the people who become part of their household. Dad is originally from New York, Mom is from Germany, and the family enjoys spending time outdoors, traveling, staying active, enjoying great food, and being surrounded by extended family, including many cousins in the area. The family also spends time in the Hamptons and Colorado throughout the year, and the nanny will occasionally travel alongside them both domestically and internationally. They describe themselves as open, honest, respectful, and easygoing, and hope to find a nanny who genuinely loves children, values meaningful connection, and wants to become an extension of the family for many years to come.
The schedule will generally be Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM–6:00 PM, with some flexibility as the family settles into their new routine. The ideal candidate has extensive experience caring for infants and multiple children simultaneously and feels confident managing the evolving needs of a growing family. Responsibilities will include all aspects of childcare, including maintaining consistent routines, coordinating school pick-ups and drop-offs, planning enriching outings and activities, preparing healthy meals for the children, supporting naps and bath time, organizing children’s spaces and belongings, and fostering independence, accountability, and kindness through loving but confident guidance and boundaries. The family strongly values active, screen-free childhoods and hopes to find someone who genuinely enjoys spending time outdoors in all seasons, engaging children through imaginative play, exploration, and hands-on learning experiences.
The nanny should be highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented, with excellent judgment and strong communication skills. During school hours or nap times, the nanny will assist with light child-related household support such as unloading the dishwasher, wiping kitchen surfaces, tidying common areas, children’s laundry, rotating clothing sizes, maintaining organized play spaces, and proactively managing children’s supplies. The family has weekly housekeepers, so no deep cleaning is required. The ideal candidate is active, confident swimming and supervising children around water, comfortable driving children daily, and excited to travel with the family as needed, including occasional weekends in the Hamptons and trips to Colorado. A German speaker or candidate with an early childhood education background would be a wonderful bonus, though neither is required.
This position offers a highly competitive compensation package beginning at $45+/hour DOE, along with a health insurance stipend, two weeks of PTO, five sick days, paid major holidays, guaranteed hours, overtime pay, annual raises, a year-end bonus, and a professional development stipend for continuing education and certifications. The family also provides a welcoming, respectful, and collaborative home environment where the nanny will truly be treated as part of the family. They are hoping to find someone who is seeking a meaningful long-term fit and who values open communication, partnership, and genuine connection as much as they do.
