Job Description

  • Achieve assigned business transient, diplomatic, and wholesale room night, revenue, and sales activity goals for each hotel.
  • Manage and grow an established portfolio of local and national corporate accounts, plus diplomatic and wholesale relationships specific to the DC market.
  • Identify and develop new corporate, diplomatic, and wholesale accounts through proactive outside sales calls, embassy and office visits, networking, industry events, and referrals — with a strong, consistent presence in the market.
  • Build and maintain relationships with embassies, diplomatic missions, chanceries, and international organizations to capture diplomatic travel, delegation stays, and related business for both hotels.
  • Manage consortia, wholesale, and tour operator partnerships, including rate agreements, contracting, production tracking, and account growth within assigned wholesale channels.
  • Increase share from existing accounts by identifying additional travelers, departments, and opportunities within each organization.
  • Identify competitive accounts and develop strategies to shift business to the Melrose and Churchill.
  • Manage the annual corporate negotiated rate and RFP process in partnership with the Directors of Sales & Marketing and Area Revenue Manager.
  • Monitor account production, ADR, and performance against negotiated expectations and hotel goals.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with travel managers, TMCs, corporate travel agencies, and other key business travel partners, with support from Remington's national sales organization.
  • Conduct client appointments, presentations, site inspections, and entertainment — both on property and in the field.
  • Maintain an active prospect pipeline and accurate account activity within the hotels' sales systems.
  • Participate in sales blitzes, industry events, and local business travel, diplomatic, and wholesale organizations.
  • Understand the positioning and business needs of both hotels and identify opportunities to generate business for one or both properties.
  • Pay: $ 85,000.00 Annual Salary (USD)

Qualifications

What we are looking for

  • Required - previous hotel sales experience with demonstrated ability to meet sales goals and grow account production.
  • Business transient sales experience preferred; will also consider a strong hotel sales professional looking to specialize in the BT, diplomatic, or wholesale segments.
  • Comfort and confidence prospecting outside the hotel — outside sales calls, office and embassy visits, and in-market relationship building are core to this role, not occasional.
  • Experience with, or strong interest in, diplomatic and government-related accounts a plus.
  • Familiarity with wholesale and tour operator channels, including rate loading and production tracking, a plus.
  • Strong prospecting, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to analyze account production and translate opportunities into sales action.
  • Knowledge of the Washington, DC corporate, diplomatic, and wholesale travel markets preferred.
  • Experience with Opera and Agency360 preferred.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable managing goals and priorities across two properties.

This position reports to the Directors of Sales & Marketing at both the Melrose Georgetown Hotel and The Churchill Hotel Near Embassy Row and works closely with Area Revenue Management and Remington Hospitality's national sales team.
