Job Description


The Manager Safety & Quality MRO is responsible for overseeing the Safety and Quality Management Systems within the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Division. Reporting directly to the General Manager MRO, the successful candidate will play a key leadership role in promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting continuous operational improvement.


Key responsibilities include conducting safety investigations and audits, managing hazard identification and risk assessments, maintaining safety and quality records, liaising with regulatory and operational stakeholders, and supporting the implementation of the company’s Safety Management Plan. The role also involves providing leadership and daily direction to safety investigators and quality inspectors while ensuring all MRO activities align with CASA regulations and company standards.


The successful candidate will contribute to the ongoing development of safety procedures, support internal and external audit activities, and work closely with senior management to maintain industry best practices across the organization.


Requirements


  • Extensive experience in aviation safety, compliance, and technical operations

  • Strong background in Air Transport Operations and Aircraft Safety

  • Proven experience in safety investigations, audits, and regulatory compliance

  • Sound understanding of Safety Management Systems (SMS) and Quality Management Systems

  • Ability to interpret and apply CASA regulations and operational standards

  • Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills

  • Ability to work effectively within a multicultural operational environment

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities

  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail

  • Experience in developing procedures and improving operational systems will be highly regarded
