As a Texas and Mexico Natural Gas Trader, you will support the growth and performance of ENGIE’s Mexico natural gas portfolio by managing physical supply activity and financial price risk across Texas and cross-border markets. Your day-to-day work will focus heavily on physical natural gas activity, supported by hedging, market analysis, and coordination with trading, origination, sales, scheduling, and portfolio teams. • Build and maintain analytical tools that improve portfolio visibility, efficiency, risk management, and trading decisions
  • Analyze natural gas supply, demand, infrastructure, market participants, and pricing dynamics to form short- and medium-term market views
  • Coordinate with the broader natural gas trading desk to optimize available molecules, receipt-point exposure, and long or short market positions
  • Partner closely with origination and sales teams on pricing, transport capacity, supplier opportunities, and structured commercial activity
  • Apply critical thinking and commercial judgment to understand competitors, counterparties, customers, and opportunities in the U.S.-Mexico border market

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, mathematics, or a related discipline in which you developed quantitative and market-analysis skills
  • A minimum of two years of natural gas trading or closely related commercial portfolio experience
  • Working knowledge of Texas intrastate and interstate pipelines and U.S.-Mexico cross-border natural gas flow dynamics
  • Strong knowledge of North American natural gas fundamentals, including supply, demand, infrastructure, basis, index, and price-risk drivers
  • Experience supporting physical natural gas transactions and financial hedging strategies
  • Proficiency with Excel and at least one analytical or programming tool such as SQL, VBA, or Python
  • Ability to work independently, solve complex problems, manage multiple time-sensitive assignments accurately, and adapt as market conditions change
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present market views, engage in constructive debate, and collaborate across commercial teams
