Requirements

We are seeking a
hands-on Tech Lead / Solution Architect
to lead backend architecture and solution design for the
Freddie Mac Multi-Family
division. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in
Java, Python/Pyspark, AWS
, and
microservices architecture
, coupled with deep domain experience in the
mortgage industry
.

Key Responsibilities:

• 
  Lead design and implementation of scalable
  microservice-based backend architectures
  .

• 
  Define and enforce
  solution architecture and security architecture patterns
  across platforms.

• 
  Collaborate with product and data teams to design and optimize
  data architecture and integration patterns
  .

• 
  Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams.

• 
  Partner with stakeholders to align technology solutions with business objectives.

• 
  Evaluate new technologies and drive modernization efforts within the backend ecosystem.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 
  10+ years
  of progressive backend engineering and architecture experience.

• 
  Strong hands-on expertise with:

  • 
    Java+Spring Boot

  • 
    Python/PySpark

  • 
    PostgreSQL, MongoDB

  • 
    AWS cloud services

• 
  Proven experience designing
  microservices
  and
  data-driven architectures
  .

• 
  Strong understanding of
  security design patterns
  and compliance considerations.

• 
  Prior experience within the
  mortgage, financial services, or housing industry
  is
  highly preferred
  .

• 
  Excellent communication and leadership skills to engage cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 
  Experience leading multi-pod Agile teams in a complex enterprise environment.

• 
  Exposure to CI/CD, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and DevOps practices.

• 
  AWS Certification (Architect or Developer) is a plus.
