Job Description

As a Test Automation Associate within the Chase Auto Finance team at JPMorgan Chase, you will be responsible for automating test scenarios and executing/maintaining automated tests using AI-assisted automation You will also support the design, build, and strategic rollout of an automated testing solution aimed at improving operational efficiency, reducing errors, and resolving stakeholder pain points.

Job Responsibilities

• Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated functional tests for Web UI using Selenium, Cucumber, and Java, and expand coverage to API automation
• Leverage AI coding/testing assistants to accelerate test creation, execution, analysis, and maintenance, while ensuring appropriate human review and quality controls.
• Build and automate end-to-end business flows for new initiatives and ongoing releases.
• Build and maintain regression suites across multiple product segments.
• Develop supporting components such as test utilities, test data solutions, and automation enablers to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Partner with product, engineering, and QA stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into robust automation with full coverage.
• Contribute to the team’s automation strategy, including standardization, CI/CD integration, reporting, and continuous improvement.
• Drive high-quality deliverables by maintaining strong engineering practices, documentation, and adherence to timelines.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and skills

• Web UI automation: Selenium + Java + Cucumber (BDD), including framework design/maintenance and API automation: REST API testing using common frameworks/tools (e.g., RestAssured, Postman/Newman, etc.).
• Working experience of testing across phases (requirements → test design → execution → defect lifecycle), including test strategy, reporting, and defect triage.
• Experience using AI coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Codeium) to generate/improve automated tests and scripts, with safe practices (validation, secure coding, avoiding sensitive data exposure).
• Proficiency in JavaScript and/or Python (VBScript acceptable if that’s what your environment uses, but it’s less commonly required for new roles).
• Strong SQL skills; experience with Oracle, MySQL, and/or SQL Server
• Experience integrating automated tests into pipelines using Jenkins
• Strong problem-solving skills, ownership mindset, and ability to collaborate across teams (dev, QA, product, DevOps).
• Experience building lightweight test services/utilities or APIs in Spring Boot (e.g., mock services, test harness endpoints).
• Experience supporting testing in AWS environments (deployments, test environment setup, logs/monitoring, basic cloud troubleshooting).
