Job Description

The Stellantis Quality organization is currently seeking a solutions-oriented Warranty Analysis Technician to join the Quality team at the Stellantis QEC Building in Auburn Hills, MI. The Warranty Analysis Technician is responsible for complete teardown analysis and testing according to written instructions and test procedures. This position requires the candidate to have the ability to understand part functionality with proven experience to be able to identify the root cause of the failure. The candidate must be high-energy, hands-on individual with experience in working cross-functionally and possess a broad knowledge of the entire automotive Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality landscape. Moreover, this person must have unquestioned integrity. This is a highly visible area and the candidates must conduct themselves in a professional manner. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assemble and install, remove, disassemble and repair components and related parts Other fabrication duties as operationally required Set up and operate test equipment on warranty returned components for level one functionality performance and other operating characteristics per the customer complaint Record data and observations per standard test procedures Analysis will include investigation by way of dealership calls, use of corporate data systems, involvement with suppliers and there testing procedures Review all corporate systems (QNA, DIPAP, etc.) and related repair information to determine the correct course of action in determining the root cause of the complaint/failure Record the daily findings during root cause analysis into Part Return Analysis System (PRAS) Maintain area and equipment cleanliness May assist with special assignments as appropriate.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in Automotive Technology or related degree
  • Good verbal, written, and record keeping skills
  • Must have computer experience (Windows applications), camera skills
  • Positive attitude, good teamwork and customer service skills
  • Experience using hand, bench, machine tools and welding equipment
  • Experience systematically tearing down assemblies looking for root cause
  • Ability to test electrical components such as relays, solenoids, switches, etc.
  • Must be able to work in a diverse group with other staff members to address component issues as required
  • Must be a team player and help in other components areas at a moment's notice
  • Ability to drive a Hilo/stacker

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ASE Certification or Master Mechanic preferred
  • Must have powertrain/drivetrain experience with disassembly and analyzing failed transmissions (Automatic and Manual), Engines, Transfer Cases, Axles and related components
  • Possess general vehicle operating knowledge with all vehicle components
  • All candidates will be required to produce documents at time of interview
