Job Description

TTI Consumer Power Tools, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Tester – Assembly to join our team. In this role, you will conduct product testing, perform quality inspections, troubleshoot equipment, and support assembly operations to ensure all products meet company and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

Product Testing & Evaluation

  • Perform operational and performance testing on gas-powered and battery powered lawn and garden equipment, including mowers, and blowers.
  • Evaluate equipment performance under various operating conditions.
  • Identify and document issues related to mechanical function, fuel efficiency, noise levels, emissions, or overall product performance.
  • Support compliance testing activities to ensure products meet company specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to quality, engineering, and production teams.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Quality Inspection

  • Conduct visual and mechanical inspections on tools, equipment, and accessories.
  • Verify product quality, including:
    • Surface finish and appearance
    • Labeling accuracy
    • Data plate information

Torque specifications

  • Identify defects or discrepancies and promptly notify managers or team leaders.
  • Ensure inspection and testing records are completed accurately and consistently.

Equipment & Safety

  • Maintain testing equipment, gauges, tools, and workstations to support accurate and repeatable testing results.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper handling of fuels, chemicals, and machinery.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts that enhance quality, safety, and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Technical, mechanical, agricultural, or related training is preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of three months of experience in manufacturing, assembly, testing, inspection, or related environment.
  • Experience with outdoor power equipment, lawn care equipment, small engines, or product testing is preferred.

Skills & Competencies

  • Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret charts, drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Proficiency with basic math, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to make sound decisions and work independently when required.
  • Positive, collaborative approach to working with team members and leadership.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Frequently lift, move, and handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks requiring continuous attention and focus.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and additional hours as business needs require.

Work Environment

  • Exposure to varying, noise, fuels, chemicals, and machinery.
  • Requires strict adherence to safety procedures and quality standards.

  • No more than 6 attendance points
  • Efficiency and Quality goals met for the previous 3 months.
