The Test Technician II is responsible for supporting the assembly, integration, testing, troubleshooting, and inspection of electrical and mechanical systems used in medical device qualification. This role works closely with engineering teams to ensure hardware is built and tested to exact specifications in a fast-paced, high-reliability environment.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, comfortable working with precision tools and test equipment, and able to follow complex engineering documentation and procedures.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform functional, environmental, electrical, or mechanical testing according to approved procedures and protocols.
  • Set up and operate test equipment, fixtures, and instrumentation, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, torque tools, calipers, and microscopes
  • Accurately record test data and maintain documentation in accordance with quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, work instructions, and technical documentation
  • Assist with the development, validation, and improvement of test methods and procedures.
  • Identify, document, and communicate non-conformances, defects, and test discrepancies
  • Support root cause investigations and corrective actions for hardware or process issues
  • Work collaboratively to meet schedule and performance goals
  • Follow all safety, quality, and compliance guidelines, including applicable regulatory standards
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, quality, and process optimization
  • Maintain an organized equipment closet and ensure calibration of tools is maintained
  • Manage fleet of capital equipment with software deployments, and hardware/firmware updates

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing, mechanical assembly, integration, or test environments.

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and data acquisition systems.
  • Ability to read and work from engineering drawings, specifications, schematics, and procedures
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with standard computer applications and test software.
  • Experience in a regulated industry such as medical devices, aerospace, or pharmaceuticals.
  • Familiarity with automated testing systems and data collection tools
  • Knowledge of GD&T and precision measurement techniques
  • Familiarity with quality systems and documentation standards (e.g., GMP, ISO 13485).
  • Experience supporting engineering validation or product verification testing.
  • Basic programming or scripting experience for automated testing environments.

Physical Requirements

  • Work in laboratory, manufacturing, or test facility environments.
  • May require standing for extended periods and handling test equipment or fixtures.
  • May occasionally lift equipment up to a specified weight per company safety guidelines.
  • Ability to travel as necessary to support off-site test activities

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$49,600.00 - $74,400.00This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information applies solely to candidates hired within the United States (local-market compensation and benefits will apply to others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance,Health Savings Account,Healthcare Flexible Spending Account,Life insurance, Long-term disability leave,Dependent daycare spending account,Tuition assistance/reimbursement, andSimple Steps (global well-being program).
