Job Description

Eaton’s IS VEH EMB division is currently seeking a Test Technician.

Eaton announced, on June 11, 2026, the intent to combine its Mobility Group (including both the Vehicle and eMobility segments) with a new company. We expect to complete this process by the end of the first half of 2027. The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton's plans, programs and practices. If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Mobility Group when the transaction closes, the new company will provide further details to employees concerning compensation and benefits at that time.

What you’ll do:

Responsible for providing production support and support to Electrical Test equipment, training personnel, providing feedback to production lines regarding electrical equipment, and performing preventive maintenance on fixtures and testing machines.

Essential Functions:

1 Maintain electrical test equipment in good operating condition according to maintenance schedules.

2 Develop and validate test fixtures and harnesses.

3 Apply knowledge of electronic assembly failure analysis and soldering processes.

4 Support supplier management activities and follow up on fixture/equipment-related work.

5 Read and interpret schematics (electrical diagrams) of products under test as a reference for analysis.

6 Provide basic training to test machine operators on proper operation and use.

7 Verify fixture versions/revisions, test programs, and required reference documentation needed to perform electrical testing.

8 Comply with operating procedures and standards.

9 Support the Engineering department in New Product Introduction (NPI) activities or validation of test equipment through statistical studies (MSA).

10 Participate in proposals for performance, cost, and reliability improvements at assigned workstations.

11 Diagnose, correct, and validate approved test parameters.

12 Coordinate internal and external calibration of test equipment

Qualifications:

Basic qualifications:

Preferred education level:

  • Technical degree in Electronics, Electromechanics, or Electrical Technology.

Years and area of experience required:

  • 1- 3- years of experience in electrical test and equipment areas and/or similar position.
  • 1-3 years of experience (preffered) on building electronic products.
  • Knowledge of testing processes and PCBA analysis.
  • Ability to interpret electrical diagrams/schematics.
  • Proficient in the use of measurement equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and LCR meters.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience using soldering irons and soldering processes.

Technical knowledge:

  • Strong knowledge in IPC-A-610, IPC-7711/21 and basic knowledge of IATF-16949.
