Job Purpose

The Test Technician works with other technicians and engineers to perform engine builds, maintain preventative maintenance schedules for engine and bench test stands, and performs hardware swaps for automotive engine testing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sets up engines and test stands, making modifications as necessary, and collaborating with test engineers to install various forms of instrumentation.

  • Adjusts and calibrates instrumentation and maintains calibration records assuring reliable data acquisition.

  • Installs and removes test components from test stands and test drive vehicles. Maintains accurate records and prepares test results.

  • Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment.

  • Fabricates test equipment and fixtures (e.g. Welding, lathe work, mill work).

  • Check components to ensure they meet drawing specifications, records measurements.

  • Plans, builds and performs a wide variety of laboratory tests on assigned projects.

  • Recommends and aides in the selection of equipment required for testing and data collection. Builds special test equipment when necessary.

What we are looking for

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Associates degree or (2) years technical training.

  • Minimum of four (4) years of practical experience in automotive mechanics.

  • Must understand basic mechanics, hydraulics, and electronics.

  • Should be familiar with Microsoft office suite including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

  • Must have considerable problem-solving skills including troubleshooting and the ability to make decisions without having all the information available.

  • Must have professional interpersonal communication skills.

Salary Range:

$68,800 - $96,750Internal Use Only: Salary
