The hourly rate for this position is $25.88 - $30.19 plus $2.50 shift differential per hour.

Eaton’s Mission Systems Division is currently seeking a Test Technician within its Actuation Team. This position is based at our Orchard Park, NY facility. The Test Technician is responsible for performing Javelin BCU and OBV LAT testing, troubleshooting, and repair to ensure products are repaired and tested to defined specifications. The candidate needs to communicate effectively with cross functional departments to resolve and correct schedule conflicts, equipment issues, and testing concerns, including but not limited to engineering, production, quality, maintenance, and operations. The candidate will maintain standards of quality, production, and safety; complies with all company policies and works as part of a team to ensure that daily goals are met.
Job responsibilities
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards are met, and identifying improvement opportunities for EHS.
• Obtain and maintain Certified Operator Status including job specific training/certifications and ERP system data entry in accordance with site guidelines.
• Assist certified trainers with basic training of technicians up to and including current grade.
• Possesses knowledge/experience of assembly and test requirements. Ability to evaluate mechanical systems, use of specialized assembly tools/measuring equipment. Able to share knowledge and guide technicians of lower and current level.
• Independently perform moderate and begins high complexity assembly and test operations following written instructions.
• Ability to perform moderate complexity and begins high complexity product testing using test equipment while following written acceptance test documents.
• Document test results on data sheets and/or record test data in electronic data collection system.
• Ability to build basic test setups using documented plans/instructions, and product team support.
• Ability to self-guide/self-schedule portions of testing to achieve prescribed testing goals.
• Flexibility to perform different types of testing within the same day/shift.
• Understands product quality requirements and follows non-conforming material processes. Reports findings to team and generates non-conforming hardware documentation.
• Supports Team/Engineering with inspection and rework.
• Identify and communicate potential WI discrepancies/updates.
• Working experience with pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systems, and able to troubleshoot moderate issues without supervision.
• Identify and communicate troubleshooting instructions/process aid opportunities.
• Basic experience with ERP systems and standard Microsoft applications.
• High School Diploma or Equivalency.
• 4 years of relevant manufacturing/mechanical experience or 6 years combined manufacturing & Military experience or.
• Proficient using various hand tools and measuring equipment. Follows work instructions, perform tasks without supervision and assists others.
• US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Preferred qualifications
• High School Diploma with skilled trade certification.or Associate’s Degree or Equivalent experience.
• 6 years of Aerospace Manufacturing or Assembly and Test.
• Demonstrated ability to complete all required technical skills above.
• Demonstrated ability/experience with all soft skills listed above.
• Demonstrated understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, Cellular Manufacturing, One Piece Flow, and Continuous Improvement concepts.
