About the Team:

The team serves as the primary technical interface between ZF Test Systems and customers in Japan, supporting automotive OEMs, suppliers, and research institutions across a wide range of testing and validation applications.
Our team delivers advanced testing solutions, including tire, clutch, battery, and brake testing systems, helping customers improve product performance, quality, and innovation. Working closely with global engineering teams across Europe and Asia, we provide technical expertise throughout the entire lifecycle of test systems, from installation and commissioning to maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrades.

What you can look forward to as Test Systems Engineer:

• Provide technical support for ZF Test Systems products in Japan, including tire, clutch, battery, and brake testing systems
• Perform on-site repair, maintenance, calibration, and upgrade activities for customer test equipment
• Deliver remote and on-site troubleshooting support to ensure high system availability and customer satisfaction
• Support local projects related to the installation and commissioning of new test rigs for Japanese customers
• Collaborate with engineering and service teams across Europe and Asia using English as the primary business language
• Manage and coordinate external service partners and subcontractors to ensure service quality
• Lead competence development and technical knowledge sharing within the local team
• Contribute to technical strategy development by analyzing global technology trends and local customer requirements

Your Profile as Test Systems Engineer:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a technical role within the automotive industry, such as Technical Support, Service Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Maintenance
• Experience working for machinery, industrial equipment, or electrical/electronic equipment manufacturers
• Business-level communication skills in both Japanese and English, written and spoken; German language skills are an advantage
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to quickly learn new digital tools and systems
• Experience managing external partners, contractors, or service providers
• Willingness to travel domestically on a regular basis (approximately 5-6 trips per month)
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline is preferred
• Knowledge of test rig technologies, PLC systems, calibration standards (ISO/IEC 17025), or automotive quality systems (IATF 16949) is an advantage
