Job Description

The D237 Test Services and Support Electrical Test Supervisor is responsible for the MTC employees on their shift. This position will be responsible for oversight of Test Facilities, routing, installing, and servicing various electrical temporary services and systems, and test gear required to support all on-site and off-site contracts.

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Make daily work assignments to support test schedules.
  • Maintain Chief of Test Facilities’ awareness of problems relating to Test Equipment availability to support testing.
  • Provide communication to various projects the status of requested test gear or services and provide notification of any issues or delays to the project and Chief of Test Facilities.
  • Provide direct supervision of Test Facilities’ activities, examples include Parts Crib operations, test equipment maintenance, various testing, Shore Power, routing, installing, and servicing various electrical temporary services and systems, etc.
  • Evaluate the performance of personnel and take actions for advancement, training or discipline.
  • Ensure all Electric Boat policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement program and implement ideas to upgrade testing practices, as well as broadcast improvements made to the department.
  • Review and report manpower needs as required to meet schedules.
  • Inventory control system management
  • Execute a Preventive Maintenance program on Test Equipment
  • Coordinate the ordering of materials by means of MRP-II, PCard, PEWO, or Oracle as necessary to maintain inventories, payments for emergent repairs for vital testing equipment, and other payments necessary to support testing schedules.
  • Turnover outstanding work items to relieving shifts to ensure completion of assignments.
  • Possess a flexible schedule to facilitate off-shift and weekends to support ship key events and the shipyard test program.
  • Must be capable of taking effective disciplinary action in accordance with company policy and procedures and confer with Human Resources concerning employee problems and manner of resolution.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 4+ years experience in a testing type organization

Preferred Skills:

  • Prior military training or electrical job experience or training from Vocational or Technical School or Community College
  • Understanding of testing addendums and operations
  • Familiarity with ATICTS, Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, Visio, etc.)

Skills

  • Strong written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills are required
  • Candidate should be self-motivated and technically minded with a solid understanding of the submarine test program
  • Excellent organizational skills
