In this role, you'll:

Lead and manage testing activities across a complex, highly integrated environment. This role will suit someone who is comfortable operating at both a strategic and hands-on level, able to provide strong leadership while ensuring high-quality test outcomes.

You will lead a team of three test resources, own the overall test approach, and act as the key testing representative across delivery, governance, and stakeholder forums.

This role is working within one of our major transformation programs that will support the new fleet of regional trains.

In this high-stakes, fast-paced environment, you will:

  • Develop and maintain the overall Test Strategy, ensuring alignment with program objectives and delivery timelines
  • Oversee the preparation, coordination, and execution of all test deliverables across the project lifecycle included but not limited to facilitation of testing outcomes between suppliers, business and technology stakeholders
  • Lead and manage a team of test resources, providing direction, support, and quality oversight
  • Represent testing in project meetings, workshops, governance forums, and stakeholder engagements
  • Provide clear status reporting, risk assessments, and recommendations to management and senior stakeholders
  • Ensure comprehensive test coverage and traceability across complex system integrations
  • Actively contribute to testing activities when required, including test preparation, execution, defect management, and reporting

This role reports into the Senior Manager of Testing for people management and to the Program Manager Regional Rail for delivery governance

About you

For you to be successful within this role you should meet with all, or most of the following criteria:

  • Understanding and solid background across all major testing types, including, functional testing, integration testing, performance testing, test automation, and security testing
  • Proven experience managing testing in complex, integrated technology environments
  • A pragmatic leader who can balance strategy with delivery
  • Someone who thrives in complex environments and can bring clarity and structure to testing efforts
  • A collaborative professional who can influence outcomes and drive quality across multiple teams
  • Demonstrated hands-on testing experience, with the flexibility to step in when required
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including presenting to senior management
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, managing competing priorities and dependencies
  • You’re energetic, enjoy collaborating with stakeholders, self-motivated, enjoy what you do, and love a challenging/complex work environment

Preferred, but not essential:

  • Rail experience

This is a fixed term flexible hybrid role, up to June 2027. Please note, 50% of your time will be office based, with 25% of that time based from our offices at Macquarie Park. Salary/Grading – Grade 9, 01-05 - $158,393.00 - $177,399.00 + super.
