Job Description Summary

As an ICAR modality Test Lead at GEHC, you will lead and execute testing activities for interventional cardiology new programs and IB lifecycle projects. This role involves ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our cutting-edge medical devices through comprehensive test planning, execution, and defect management. You will be responsible for leading 5-8 test engineers for weekly/bi-weekly sprints related to engineering tasks/user stories planning.

GE HealthCare’s Invasive Cardiology business integrates cardiac catheterization (Mac-Lab) and electrophysiology (Cardio Lab). By utilizing advanced AI, superior visualization, and high-fidelity signal quality, these systems streamline workflows and optimize clinical outcomes in both Cath and EP labs.

Responsible for providing end-to-end test leadership for technical projects across GE HealthCare’s Invasive Cardiology (ICAR) product portfolio, delivering high-quality outcomes for internal and external customers. This includes gathering and documenting test requirements, developing test strategies, plans, and specifications, and leading verification activities across build, integration, test, and deployment milestones. The role coordinates cross-functional teams, tracks quality risks and issues, and ensures test results support product readiness and release decisions.

Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end verification for ICAR products, translating customer and product requirements into test plans, test cases, schedules, and acceptance criteria. Drive execution to meet sprint and weekly commitments while actively engaging the test team and program office.
  • Develop and review detailed test plans, test cases, and test procedures based on product requirements and design specifications.
  • Oversee the execution of test cases, analyze test results, and identify, document, and track software and hardware defects.
  • Collaborate closely with R&D, systems engineering, and product management teams to understand product functionalities and ensure thorough test coverage
  • Drive continuous improvement in testing methodologies, tools, and processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Prepare and present test status reports, defect metrics, and quality summaries to project stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to GE Healthcare's quality management system (QMS) and relevant industry standards

Education and experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), A minimum of 10 years of professional experience.
  • 8 years plus of relevant experience in product development and testing leadership in manual and automated testing.
  • Experience using AI in day-day testing activities

Desired characteristics

  • Good experience in leading product testing across the software and hardware development lifecycle. Familiarity with Windows operating systems and policies, UFT, ALM/Jama. Knowledge in behavior-driven frameworks and scripting using Python, C# is highly desirable.
  • Strong experience leading software or product verification across the software development lifecycle and release process. Skilled in work breakdown structure (WBS) development and using Microsoft Project and Rally to plan and track tasks, user stories, dependencies, and milestones.
  • Proven experience in testing medical devices, particularly in the healthcare product
  • Strong understanding of medical device regulations (e.g., FDA, CE Mark) and quality system requirements (e.g., ISO 13485).
  • Expertise in test methodologies, including functional, performance, reliability, and regression testing.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment.
