We are seeking Test Lab Testers to support the Internal Revenue Service’s (IRS) Criminal Investigations (CI) Client Management Support Services (CMSS) & U.S. Windows Client OS Support and Onsite Services contract at the IRS test lab in Florence, Kentucky, with a planned relocation to Covington, Kentucky.

So, what will the Test Lab Tester at Terrestris do?

The Test Lab Tester will support the IRS Criminal Investigation (CI) enterprise endpoint test environment by performing structured validation and testing of Windows-based hardware, software, operating systems, applications, and endpoint-management solutions. The position will help ensure that new technologies, configurations, updates, and hardware platforms are thoroughly tested and ready for enterprise deployment.

You will maintain test environments, execute test plans, document results, identify defects, and recommend corrective actions. You will also support endpoint imaging and lifecycle-management activities, automated testing initiatives, configuration and change management, and the development of technical documentation and communications. This position will play an important role in ensuring that endpoint solutions meet IRS-CI operational, security, and performance requirements before they are deployed to users.

What does a typical day look like for a Test Lab Tester?

You will:

  • Execute structured validation and testing within the enterprise endpoint test environment.
  • Support the configuration and lifecycle management of endpoints, software, hardware, and associated test environments.
  • Analyze, develop, implement, and maintain modernized endpoint imaging methodologies and lifecycle-management solutions, including operating systems, firmware, drivers, BIOS, standard software, clients, and servers.
  • Support automated image and version tracking and the integration of new hardware into established image lifecycles.
  • Analyze, develop, implement, and maintain automated testing methodologies and solutions supporting user profiles, endpoint management, software management, and captured test use cases.
  • Maintain test environments daily and gather requirements from stakeholders.
  • Review, develop, improve, and maintain test plans and associated testing documentation.
  • Perform testing of hardware and software changes using agile and continuous-delivery methodologies.
  • Validate endpoint deployments across different hardware configurations, authentication methods, and network environments.
  • Identify defects, document test results, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Provide management reporting on test execution, results, defects, and overall readiness.
  • Support Alternatives Analysis, decision documents, white papers, and implementation of approved solutions using IRS-CI processes.
  • Support configuration, change, and communications management activities.
  • Assist with release communications, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), knowledge articles, self-help content, and other technical documentation.
  • Ensure testing activities and deliverables comply with DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and applicable IRS/CI security controls and policies.

What qualifications do you look for?

You might be the professional we’re looking for if you have:

  • Authorization to permanently work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience supporting enterprise endpoint management, desktop engineering, software-deployment testing, operating-system validation, or similar activities in Microsoft Windows environments.
  • Experience with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM), Microsoft Intune, Group Policy, and PowerShell scripting.
  • Experience with application compatibility testing and documenting detailed test execution results.
  • Experience testing hardware and software deployments across multiple endpoint platforms, authentication methods, and network configurations is preferred.
  • CompTIA A+, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, or equivalent endpoint-management, desktop-support, or security certification(s).
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work onsite Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM Eastern Time, excluding U.S. Federal holidays. Holiday work may be required with advance scheduling.
  • Ability to work onsite in Florence, Kentucky, and commute to Covington, Kentucky following the planned office relocation in September 2027.
  • Must undergo a High-Risk Background Investigation and complete a 7-panel drug screening.
